Drum roll, please… Facebook Reels have officially been rolled out globally to over 150 countries, boosting the ways individuals and businesses can get creative on Meta’s most successful and well-established platform.
Hot on the heels of Instagram’s major shift towards being a more video-focused platform, Facebook is now cashing in on the phenomenon of short-form video, and needless to say that got everyone in our digital team very excited.
What are Facebook Reels?
In a nutshell, Reels are Meta’s fastest-growing content format (based on their data from Instagram), which is why they’ve decided to enable all users to utilise it on personal pages and for businesses.
They work in the same way as Instagram Reels, enabling users to create videos that are up to 60 seconds long and can be a mix of video, audio and images.
Facebook Reels will now have a dedicated area within the Facebook mobile app (although you’ll be able to navigate to your Reels feed from almost anywhere within the app). The feed will be made up of a mix of native Facebook Reels in addition to Instagram Reels which can be shared across both Facebook and Instagram.
Our team have already seen great success using Instagram Reels, which have helped skyrocket brand awareness for our clients, so this latest release from Meta has got us excited to see what comes next.
How can you create Facebook Reels?

Making the most of Facebook Reels
If you really want to make the most out of this new platform you’re going to need a strategy. Whilst you may be thinking “I already have a short-form video strategy that’s helping my business grow on Instagram and TikTok, I’ll just do the same on Facebook”, sadly that’s not going to be the case.
Each platform has a drastically different audience and so you need to provide suitable content that is going to resonate with that audience on each specific platform. Sounds confusing? Don’t worry, we live and breathe short-form video content and with our team of content experts we will make sure you hit the ground running with Facebook Reels, and if you haven’t explored other content avenues, whether it be through video or other forms of media, we’ll help you grow your audience via other paths too.
