Staff at eclipse marketing on Chester Business Park are going on hunger strike – and it’s all for a good cause!
All members of the team are going food-free on May 28th to mark World Hunger Day. And they’re each donating the cost of their meals, plus drinks and snacks, to the West Cheshire Food Bank.
The Foodbank provides emergency food parcels to people in need throughout Chester and East Cheshire. Last year, the charity handed out more than 9,500 three-day food parcels to local people. However, the demand for donations of money and food continues to grow.
We currently provide digital marketing and PR support to the Foodbank. This year, we decided to provide practical financial support by turning their food into Foodbank funds.
“World Hunger Day was set up to raise awareness of the 800 million people around the world who don’t have enough to eat, so it seemed the ideal date for our 24-hour fast”, said eclipse marketing MD, Mark Astbury.
“The Foodbank plays a vital role in feeding the neediest members of our local community but demand is growing and donations are falling, so we want to help in any way we can.”
